Let my soul be filled with the blessing of joy of peace. By Laura Alice

'Fifty seven moons' mural with YWCA Geelong
Late last year I was lucky enough to create a mural with the women at YWCA- a glow in the dark mural celebrating the empowerment of the feminine, and in solidarity with the 'Reclaim the Night' movement - in the hope of making the night a safe place for women all over the world.

Women and girls wrote messages of empowerment in the moons that surrounded my 'divine feminine' image.

The 'Hamsa' hand that accompanies the image is an ancient symbol that can be found relating to many mystical aspects of the ancient theistic religions (Judaism, Islam, Hinduism, Christianity) in the context of the hand of the divine feminine, offering protection.

The Jewish 'Hamsa' prayer that accompanies the hand of loving protection in Judaism is as follows;

Let no sadness come
to this heart
Let no trouble come
to these arms
Let no conflict come
to these eyes
Let my soul be filled with the blessing of joy of peace.
