People do not destroy what they experience as sacred

"When the Sacred is recognized, in whatever form and with whatever language, it is protected. If the Sacred was recognized in children, they would be cherished. If the Sacred was perceived in all religious traditions, then tolerance would give way to genuine appreciation for diverse traditions. If the Sacred was recognized within all life of the Earth community, then we would not be in an ecological crisis.  People do not destroy what they experience as sacred."

~Heather Eaton, “Child Honouring and Religion”, from Child Honouring, How to Turn this World Around, edited by Raffi Cavoukian & Sharna Olfman
