The Light of the World

I am the light of the world -
the bright, white light of the world.
Shine me, please,
through prisms of poetry,
dewdrops
and raindrops,
moonbeams and mist,
Shine me bright
through darkness,
through night,
make me rainbows
and moonbows,
sunrise and sunset,
sunlight and starlight and moonlight...
The world is not black and white
and white light
is every colour of the rainbow.
You are the light of the world -
the bright, white light of the world.
Shine, if you will,
through prisms of poetry,
dewdrops
and raindrops,
moonbeams and mist,
Shine bright,
through darkness,
through night,
be rainbows
and moonbows,
sunrise and sunset,
sunlight and starlight and moonlight...
The world is not black and white
and you
can be -
and see -
every colour of the rainbow.
